About Immediate-Load Implant
The implant is placed in the jaw and a temporary crown or bridge is attached on the same day or within a couple of days. The temporary tooth is kept out of heavy biting while the implant fuses with bone. The final crown is fitted after several months once healing is confirmed.
Appearance is restored immediately, but the choice depends on having enough bone and an implant that is firmly stable at placement. Success relies on bone density, gum health, smoking, bite forces and surgical planning. If stability is poor, a traditional delayed approach is safer, and your dentist should say so.
Plan two trips: a first stay of a few days for surgery and checks, and a second after about three months for the final crown. Eat soft foods and clean the area gently. Bring dental records and scans, and arrange a local dentist for check-ups between visits.
Usually a good fit if
- You have a tooth that cannot be saved with enough healthy bone to hold an implant firmly.
- You want a tooth on the day of surgery.
- Your gums are healthy and you can protect the implant.
- You are generally healthy.
May need to wait if
- Poor bone quality or insufficient implant stability on the day.
- Heavy grinding or clenching that could overload the implant.
- Uncontrolled diabetes or heavy smoking.
- Active infection around the tooth, until controlled.
How to prepare
- Have a CBCT scan and bring recent X-rays.
- Tell your dentist about medicines such as blood thinners, bone drugs and diabetes treatment; do not change them on your own.
- Stop smoking as advised and treat gum disease first.
- Plan a soft diet and avoid biting on the temporary tooth.
- Plan a second visit for the final crown.
Questions to ask your surgeon
- Is my bone suitable for immediate loading, and how will you check stability?
- What happens if the implant is not stable enough on the day?
- What implant brand do you use?
- What should I avoid eating?
- When will the final crown be fitted?
- Who can follow me up at home?
Red flags when comparing hospitals
- Immediate loading promised without a scan.
- No explanation of what happens if stability is poor.
- Unnamed implant brand.
- No plan for the final crown and follow-up.
Questions about Immediate-Load Implant abroad
Which country is cheapest for Immediate-Load Implant?
The lowest typical hospital prices are in India ($2,100), Thailand ($2,575), Turkey ($3,003), out of 9 countries we compare.
Is an immediate-load implant as strong as a delayed one?
If the implant is stable and you protect it, success rates are good. If it is not stable enough, a delayed approach is safer.
Can I chew normally right away?
No. The temporary tooth is cosmetic, and you must avoid biting hard on it for a few months.
What if the temporary tooth breaks?
Contact your dentist promptly, since movement can affect healing.
Does the final crown come on the same trip?
Usually not. The final crown follows after two to four months.
