Where is surrogacy legal and practical for international patients?

Current regulatory map: Georgia (commercial surrogacy legal for heterosexual married couples), Kazakhstan (similar), Mexico (state-specific, Tabasco and Sinaloa friendly), Colombia (case-specific). Avoided: India (restricted since 2019), Ukraine (post-war complications), Russia (restricted for foreigners). Before engaging any surrogacy program, get a family-law opinion in your home jurisdiction about how the child's legal parentage + nationality will be recognized. Legal failures at return are the most common pitfall — far more than medical ones.
