Second opinions

How does a second oncology opinion work?

Medcasts editorial team

You share: recent imaging (CT/MRI/PET) on CD or DICOM, pathology block for re-review (or slides trusted by the second center), current treatment plan letter from your oncologist. Our panel reviews in 5-10 working days — the delay is pathology re-read, which is the hardest part to rush. You get a written opinion with: agreement/disagreement with current plan, specific modifications if any, and rationale. No obligation to travel or change anything.

This answer is general information, not medical advice. Your own doctor should confirm what applies to your case.

How this page is made

Methodology and editorial standards

Answers are written by the Medcasts editorial team and updated when prices, guidelines or visa rules change.

  1. Hospital data. Accreditation, licences and facilities are checked against public registries (JCI, NABH, health-ministry licence lists) and hospital documents, and rechecked regularly.
  2. Doctor credentials. Qualifications and specialty come from the doctor's hospital profile and national medical council registers.
  3. Prices. Price ranges come from written hospital quotes and packages, not advertised rates.
  4. Clinical text. Written by our editorial team and checked against current published guidelines before it goes live.
  5. Independence. Hospitals cannot pay to change their position on our pages.
