What is an itemized quote and why does it matter?

An itemized quote breaks down the cost into specific line items: surgeon fee, anesthesiologist fee, hospital room (per day rate × days), implant or device cost, medications, imaging, lab tests, consults.

Non-itemized 'package' quotes obscure where money is going and what's included. An itemized quote lets you:

• Compare across programs accurately. • Identify what's missing (extended PT, follow-up imaging, post-op medications). • Negotiate specific line items. • Submit accurate insurance reimbursement claims. • Avoid surprise add-ons during the trip.

Reputable programs provide itemized quotes on request. Programs that won't are often ones where the actual cost runs higher than the headline package price.
