Epilepsy
A neurological condition causing repeated seizures.
Epilepsy is treated medically (antiepileptics), with surgical resection or laser ablation in selected refractory cases. Workup includes EEG, MRI, and sometimes invasive monitoring.
What this means for you: epilepsy surgery is highly specialized. Programs doing fewer than 50 cases a year have measurably worse outcomes.
What a term means for you depends on your own reports. Ask your treating doctor, or send your reports for a free review.
