Organ transplant
Surgically replacing a failing organ with a donor organ — kidney, liver, heart, lung, pancreas.
Transplantation replaces a failing organ with one from a deceased or living donor. Living-donor transplants (kidney, part-liver) dominate international medical-travel volume because wait times are shorter and the logistics are controllable. Requires extensive pre-travel workup: HLA crossmatch, infection screening, cardiac clearance, psychiatric evaluation, legal donor-recipient relationship documentation.
