World-class care without the bill.

Medical travel from United States

US healthcare produces excellent outcomes but at a high cost. Uninsured and underinsured patients can face very large bills for major surgery. Medical travel from the USA lets you access the same calibre of treatment — with JCI-accredited hospitals and English-speaking international teams — often at a fraction of the domestic price.

Common questions from United States patients.

Does US insurance cover treatment abroad?

Most domestic US plans (Aetna, Blue Cross, United Healthcare) have international add-ons or out-of-network provisions. GeoBlue and Cigna Global are purpose-built for US citizens living or traveling abroad.

What about Medicare?

Original Medicare does not cover treatment outside the USA. Some Medicare Advantage plans include emergency international coverage — but not planned procedures.

Can I use my HSA or FSA?

Yes — IRS rules allow HSA and FSA funds to cover medical expenses abroad, including surgery and travel if it's primarily for and related to medical care. We make sure you receive itemised receipts for your records.
