Skip the NHS queue — treated in weeks, not months.

Medical travel from United Kingdom

The NHS is world-class but stretched thin. Many patients wait months for elective surgery such as joint replacement. Medical travel can mean treatment in weeks rather than months.

Does your insurer cover treatment abroad?

Send us your insurer's name or policy details. We check with the hospital what may be covered, what is excluded and what pre-authorisation you need — before you travel.

Common questions from United Kingdom patients.

Is it legal to use my NHS waiting time to travel?

Yes. NHS patients are free to seek private treatment in the UK or abroad at any time. Traveling does not affect your NHS place — but if you have the operation abroad and want to return to NHS care afterward, let your GP know.

Will my NHS GP refer me?

GPs can write a referral letter but are not obliged to recommend a specific overseas hospital. We provide the medical summary they need to write it. You can self-refer.

What if something goes wrong after I return?

Complications within the UK are handled by the NHS as normal. We provide a full clinical summary in English for your GP and any follow-up NHS team.

Can I use my private health insurance?

Some UK insurers cover treatment abroad — check your policy wording. We help with the pre-authorisation paperwork your insurer asks for.
