Понимание JCI
JCI is a US-based non-profit (an arm of The Joint Commission, which accredits US hospitals). The international program launched in 1997 and has accredited over 700 hospitals across 65+ countries. The standards focus heavily on patient-safety processes — IPSGs (International Patient Safety Goals) cover patient identification, communication, medication safety, surgical safety checklists, infection prevention, and falls reduction.
JCI inspections are intensive: 4-7 day site visits with multiple surveyors, document review, patient tracer methodology (following actual patient experiences), and direct observation of clinical practice. Hospitals must demonstrate compliance, not just policy documentation.

Cost runs $30,000-100,000+ per cycle, which is one reason it's a quality signal — only serious institutions invest.

Combined with country-specific accreditations (NABH for India, HA for Thailand, etc.), it's the strongest possible signal short of specific outcome data. Not all 'JCI'-claiming hospitals are actually accredited — verify via the JCI website.

- ! JCI is a baseline quality signal, not a guarantee of best-in-class outcomes for any specific procedure.
- ! Accreditation focuses on process rather than outcome — a JCI-accredited hospital could still have lower-than-average outcomes on a specific procedure if surgeon or department volume is low.
- ! Some accredited hospitals lose accreditation between cycles (rare but happens). Always verify current status.
- ! Accreditation status alone shouldn't drive program selection — combine with surgeon volume and case-specific outcome data.
